If employees are not seen, they are not working effectively. That, has being the age old perception held by many organisations through-out history. Howevever, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the workplace has changed drastically with organisations shutting down their office doors and work done remotely. This pivoted view resulted in the accelaration of the long run debate on productivity in an office work space versus remote work. Recent research carried out by Mercer, a HR and workplace benefit consulting firm, surveyed over eight hundred employers, resulting in a conclusion that ninety- four percent of employers shared that productivity has being the same or rather higher than it was before the pandemic, and this includes employees working remotely.
